Itinerary:
8am/1:30pm – Our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang
First Stop
Our first stop is Thanh Ha Pottery Village where we will visit a family that has been living in the same house for 5 generations and learn how to make pottery with them.We will then walk around the village to see how other families live there.
Second Stop
After crossing a typical Vietnamese rural bridge, which has stunning views of the surrounding areas, our next stop is at another family business where they specialize in making sleeping mats from reeds. Sleeping mats were a household essential for every Vietnamese family, especially during 20th century. Sadly, there are not many mat makers left like these any longer, as people are switching to other kinds of business to enable them to earn a better living. Whilst we are here, you can challenge yourself and try making one!
Third Stop
After a short ride, we visit another artisan family to watch how they make rice paper and noodles. Again, you will get the chance to make one for yourself and enjoy eating the fruits of your labour.
Final Stop
Back on the bicycles for a long ride through the paddy fields, the lotus flower filled dams and the wonderful countryside. Over another typical rural wooden bridge where we will stop to indulge the photographer in you and to rest the legs. We then continue on to another village where the amazingly talented and skilful local people make wooden fishing boats and wood and lacquer carvings.
About 12:00/17:45pm. We say goodbye to the villagers at this point and return you back to your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang.
