Nam Du island – The hidden ocean pearl in Southern Vietnam!
Nam Du island is a small archipelago of 21 islands and belongs to Kien Giang province in Mekong Delta, named as Maldives of Vietnam because of its hidden charm and pristine beauty.
The only way to reach Nam Du island is taking an express boat in 2:30 hours for 62 miles of the coast from Rach Gia wharf. Maybe you will never forget this short journey with your own friends, family or lover at idyllic island with fishing village people. Besides, you still have an opportunity to visit the biggest floating market in Mekong Delta.

ITINERARY:
This is a 3 days 2 nights trip with one night stay at Can Tho city and one night at Nam Du islands!
Day 1: Saigon – Floating market at Can Tho city (L, D)
- 08:00 am, VN Bike Tour guide will pick you up at your hotel by the private AC car for Nam Du island.
- 12:00 pm, reach Can Tho city – the main city in Southern Vietnam Mekong Delta region for many interesting activities: explore the authentic Cai Rang floating market to understand how locals trading their products on the river, have a quick visit to Vietnamese rice noodles workshop to learn how rice noodle are made and also try an unique Southern Vietnamese pizza, walk through the 2-hectare orchard garden to taste fresh seasonal fruits. After that, stop at a nice local restaurant for Vietnamese dishes.
- Around 4:00 pm, arrive to Rach Gia – the capital city of Kien Giang province, check-in and spend one night stay after having dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: Nam Du Island (B, L, D)
- 06:30 am, check out the hotel to Rach Gia wharf for reaching Nam Du Island.
- 07:30 am, take a express boat directly to the biggest island of the Nam Du’s archipelago, local named Cu Tron Island – it’s well known as a charming bay near the Gulf of Thailand area and even the most beautiful beach in Southern Vietnam.
- 09:45 am, arrive to Cu Tron Island, take a slow walk through an village market, maybe try one specialty tamarind drink from local stalls on the way to a homestay which are nearby rocky beach.
- After check-in for one night stay at Nam Du island, then to join the home-made lunch.
- The evening time is quite open due to your interests: dive into coral reefs, do an exciting fishing, enjoy local amazing sea urchin porridge that is cooked by fisherman for getting more energy on boat.
- Maybe it would be fun to choose every fresh seafood at the fish market for our extra home-cook dishes (*optional with surcharge) or book a night squid fishing with locals is also fun (*optional with surcharge)
Day 3: Nam Du – Saigon (B, L, D) or Phu Quoc exist (B, L)
- Immerse yourself in the magical sunrise or take an early swimming in the crystal clear water.
- After home-cook breakfast, we are free to explore around to feel more about the peaceful atmosphere in Nam Du island - the same as Phu Quoc island just in 5 years ago. Besides, we can easily catch some snails or crabs somewhere at the rocks area along the pleasant beach.
- 08:00 am, check – out a homestay and get on the boat back to the mainland for coming back Saigon or reaching Phu Quoc island from Rach Gia wharf.
- + If you choose Saigon, the Nam Du island tour is finished around 9 pm after dropping off at your place. Lunch & Dinner at local restaurants on the way back.
- + If your choice is Phu Quoc: Take a lunch at Rach Gia city. Finish the Nam Du island tour after sending off at the Rach Gia wharf to Phu Quoc.
Note: Nam Du island haven’t officially opened yet for the huge foreign travellers, so we highly recommend for the early booking (at least 1 week before) for some local paperwork and express boat tickets to make sure you can enjoy the best on this holiday trip.
