This ancient town, which used to be the major trading port and commercial center from the 15th to 19th century, prides itself on its grand architecture and beguiling riverside beauty. Hoi An reflects the fusion of indigenous and foreign cultures, traditions and history. Owing to the absence of traffic jam and industrial pollution, Hoi An still remains its incredible heritage of groggy Japanese ancient nostalgically colorful houses, Chinese temples and lantern alleyways even though most of its infrastructure has been gradually replaced by new lounge bars, boutique hotels and souvenir shops for tourist activities.
